Recently, a group of paleontologists were in town for the North American Paleontological Convention at the University of Cincinnati, and decided to take a field trip to the Creation Museum just across the river, in Kentucky. My aunt went to cover it for AFP, and I had the doubly good fortune of living just a stone's throw away, so I tagged along to see what these guys were up to. It was an eyeful, to say the least. Gorgeous facilities with amazingly engaging displays and animatronics, and at least a few hundred cubic cubits of bad science and misinformation. One young lady stood, furious, and grumbled, "It's bullshit. Bullshit pretending to be science." Anyone who finds themselves in the Cincinnati area with a few bucks, hours, and brain cells to burn should check it out, and see what the scientific community is up against in terms of informing the public.

According to the LA Times, beloved horror icon Forrest J Ackerman passed away this week at the age of 92. He's most known as the editor of his long-running magazine, Famous Monsters of Filmland, the first of its kind. He also contributed uncredited as a writer for one of my favorite flicks, Mad Monster Party?



Ackerman was the prototype.
Let's hope there are enough latex ghouls in Heaven to keep him happy.

So Casey and Rudy from Galacticast (and A ComicBook Orange)have taken it upon themselves to put together a commercial to promote my work. Probably one of the coolest things anyone's ever done for me. Thanks a trillion, guys. I'm glad you enjoy my stuff enough to spread the word!

I'm thrilled to see the overwhelming voice of change ringing out across the nation. As an American citizen, I'm immensely proud to have taken part in this amazing and exciting historical moment. Here's to a truly united United States.

Word has it that yesterday EC maverick master Jack Kamen passed away from cancer. It breaks my heart to hear about the loss of another of my heroes.

i've heard recently that someone got a fake second-chance offer on some artwork i had put up.

I'd feel awful if a fan got scammed on something of mine, so please make sure that the email you get is either from me or Kara, or from EBAY.COM. there can be subdomains (service.ebay.com) and whatnot in there, but it should END in EBAY.COM. if the email address looks fishy at all, do yourself a favor and play it safe and contact me or Kara to make sure it's legit.

Rich Johnston reports the end of The Exterminators at issue #30. Unfortunately, this is more than mere rumor, and it breaks my heart to know it. I sincerely would like to thank everyone who dared give us a chance for their support. I hope it was fun for you guys, because i know i had a blast. I only regret not being able to do more of it.

In trying times when poor-to-mediocre books are being publicly bashed by the readers who still habitually buy them in droves, but books like ours struggle to find a modest sustainable audience despite the love the fans and critics have shown, it's hard not to take things a little sorely. But those who have read The Exterminators and supported it have been nothing but kind and wonderful to us, for which i can never thank them enough. All good things must pass, but you have all made this one a great time while it lasted.

So, an interesting chunk of something regarding Battle Pope is rattling around the rumor mill. Check out Nov 5th's Lying in the Gutters for a peek at something interesting...
