After years of me drawing others as zombies, Lexi Moore, progeny of my esteemed colleague, B Clay Moore, has stepped up to return the favor. Clearly, the kid has good taste, an eye for detail, and a bright future.

Getting geared up for this year's convention season, and found this old unshared gem, which i did for my fellow Atomic Revolver, Seth Peck.



eating my Wheaties and doing my calisthenics. it's gonna be a long run.

the biggest question i always get is "when are you returning to the Walking Dead?" and since i've never had any plans to return, i've always said, "Never."

but like my mom always said, never say never, and here i am, returning to FULL art duty on The Walking Dead for a 6-issue fill-in arc, starting with #60, following my upcoming Fear Agent story.

here's a sketch of The Man Without Fear, from Chicago this past summer. really had fun with the fat brush inking this one. Thanks to Hank for the scan!

So, Dr Sketchy's tonight featured Gravity Plays Favorites, a pole-dancing acrobatic duo from St Louis. Really great models and performers. I'm glad i didn't miss it, and got some good life drawing out of it. here are a couple of the longer poses, and i'll try to get some of their really wild gesture poses from my sketchbook before too long.

Finally got a photo of this guy! I painted this to help pull my weight, for Heroes Con's art auction. It appeared to go to a good home, but i had to cut the umbilical on this one so fast i never got a picture... that is, until just now when i saw they'd posted one over at the Heroes site!

So, my first Dr. Sketchy's was a blast. it was great to shake the rust off my life-drawin' muscles and do some studies. A lot of the quicker poses really flew by me, which hopefully i'll regain the hang of the more i'm back into it, but it definitely got me limber.

anyway, here are some of the 2-5 minute poses:

my friend Laurenn McCubbin heads up the local chapter of the shindig known as Dr. Sketchy's. It's basically a figure drawing session, only the models are burlesque dancers and there's a bar. Also, this time, Kara's setting up shop with food-- chili, and a variety of her renowned cupcakes! If you're in the area and like to draw wimmens and rock out with the cool kids, check it out!

The Joker: an inking experiment

trying to get more comfortable with drybrush and loosening up. also, playing with spotting more heavy black, specifically on faces. Slowly but surely, i think i'll get the hang of it.
