HOLY SHIT, DUDES!

So, the Eisner award nominees for this year have been announced and I'm up for Best Cover Artist. My mind is totally blown! This is truly one of the greatest things to ever hit me. To be even being considered a possibility of being in the same class as the past winners and other nominees... I'm still reeling. This is a huge acknowledgment in and of itself. I can hardly contain myself.

In other news, Kara convinced me to go visit the SPCA with her, knowing that it would rip my heart out seeing all those dogs and not saving one. So, we ended up bringing home Lucy, an adorable border collie mix. She's super smart, so the sooner she gets the concept of peeing outside ONLY, the happier I'll be. I love her to death, even though she's brought home some kinda bug that's gotten Spooky really sick.

Also, I updated the sketchbook gallery with some more doodles.

I've been up all night and daylight savings time has made an extra hour of my day disappear into the ether. today will be ...awesome.

in the news, James Sime launched the Isotope Comics Virtual Lounge v2.o and I was honored when he asked me to contribute a column for his site. So, head on over and check out The Chop Shop. It's basically shop talk, where I'll be posting specific tutorials, insights into my general processes, and sharing my experiences, good and bad, as pertaining to my diving into the world of professional illustration. Also, like my own message board here, I'll be critiquing those I can, and attempting to be very thorough with no pulling the punches. If something's good, I'll tell you, but if it's not, I'll tell you that as well.

Also, it's really too bad the Pope is dead, but luckily you can pre-order your copy of Image's full-color printing of Battle Pope as found in Previews this month!
